A successful commodity trader should consider many factors in making a trade. One major consideration is the seasonal effect in specific commodities due to weather, supply, demand, etc. Grain markets such as corn, soybeans, and wheat have the most consistent patterns.

Soybeans tend to move higher seasonally from mid-February and peak in June. A great deal of the anxiety about crop losses diminish once the crops are in the ground. Prices tend to drop during the summer, if there are no major weather problems [...]
